House Season 6 premiere promo stills + an interview with DS (spoilery)

Surfing the internet I found a few promo pics for the premiere. In some of these Hugh looks really hot but in a few he looks really tired and aged and you can see the ..as I call them..rolls of fat,his waist definitely got some fat that wasn’t there a while ago (I know he’s 50 but that has nothing to do with it). Yes,I am obsessed,I know,I’m sorry !

Also found a spoilery interview with DS. Now,I got very annoyed that the question he gave the longest answer to was the Huddy question ,it’s clear he’s trying to win their love,they only care about them now,the rest of the fandom might as well die for all he cares (well, Hilsons are at least lucky that Wilson is still a bit more important than Cuddy,at least there’s that).

‘House’ promises shocking Season 6 storylines

What will happen to House (Hugh Laurie) this season? Will he ever run the team again? Will House and Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) do the horizontal bop for reals this time?

What does House’s absence mean for Chase, Cameron and Foreman (Jesse Spencer, Jennifer Morrison and Omar Epps)? And why the heck did House have to get his hair cut?

We quizzed House creator David Shore about Season 6, and he gave us some juicy tidbits to gnaw on – but not about the doc’s new coif, sadly.

TVGuide.ca: What will this two-hour episode represent, time-wise, for the show?
David Shore: This episode will represent his several months in the institution.

TVG: Are Cameron and Chase coming back to their old jobs?
David Shore: They will be back in their old jobs, in a sense. We didn’t really want that to get that information out, but it is out there. After the House two-hour episode, we needed to give other people responsibilities, and we shook the team up a bit, and are having a little bit of fun with it. We’re bringing them up front and centre for a little bit, for a few episodes certainly. And we’re enjoying [what we’re doing with their characters] so far.

TVG: Is Foreman taking over the day-to-day running of the team?
DS: In a way, yes. As with anything, though, we try to make it more complicated than that, but yeah.

TVG: Will there be friction between Foreman and Thirteen [Olivia Wilde]? Will they break up?
DS: I think you’re safe to assume that. You can’t have friction without having ramifications.

TVG: How will this affect House’s relationship with Cuddy? I’m assuming there will have to be some sort of confrontation between the two. Will you be addressing that?
DS: Yes, we are. There is some stuff online that says that House and Cuddy’s relationship will go on the back burner, and I think that’s an oversimplification.

Primarily, what we’re trying to do at the beginning of this year is House’s search for change, and whether he can or wants to change. It’s fundamentally the same character, but he’s also just trying to make his life just a little bit better. And trying to take the high road.

Having him just coming out of an institution, we didn’t want to throw him into a relationship initially. We want to deal with his mental health a little bit. House is trying to be a more mature person. And failing more often than not.

TVG: Will House try not to take Wilson for granted so much?
DS: Again, he’s going to try to. [Laughs.]

TVG: Will Amber [Anne Dudek] be back?
DS: No.

Hugh Laurie in Playboy magazine scans

So while House is dead for me and I’ll just pretend it ended with season 3,Hugh Laurie,apart from disappointing me regarding the show(how the Hell he’s letting this happen is beyond me but whatever), gave an amazing interview in Playboy magazine(the February issue I believe ….or maybe January,I forgot :D).
This is a very smart interview,with only a couple of old questions and a lot of smart answers that really give you a “taste” of what this man is made of .
He’s so incredibly intelligent and complex,complicated,funny and troubled.His depression just makes me feel even closer to him since I know where he’s coming from although at a much higher level in his case.

Hugh Laurie in Emmy Magazine (scans) aka PERFECTION

Yes,Hugh Laurie is either perfect or he (and most interviewers/article writers)manages to do a great job at deceiving us he’s perfect and the new Emmy magazine article continues the “trend” .If I loved Hugh until now ,I love him even more after this interview (and pretty much any new larger interview)and I can hope for only 2 things : 1.that he’ll never change and remain the same funny,quick-witted,self-deprecating,engaging,intelligent,HUMBLE self and 2.that he’ll stop smoking ’cause I’d sure like him to live a long,healthy life.

I must shamefully admit that,while my appreciation and affection for him remained absolutely the same,I was beginning to have my doubts about him because of a few things that seemed to not provoke a similar reaction in anyone but me (but I do overreact,over think stuff and have little faith in humanity so ….)like him buying an over $3 million house in LA(which is good in terms of him being together with his family but I thought :”why did he need such a big house in LA when he always gave the impression he doesn’t like the whole Hollywood thing and loves the UK so much”),lack of appearances even in events like BFTV concerts and important events when it came to his tv show like the uprfonts(which he failed to attend last year as well but still…),getting a Harley Davidson(if he actually got one and I was not just mistaken)when he said he’s perfectly happy with his british Triumph ,the Envelope House screening where he kinda disappeared immediately after the Q&A was over instead of just hanging around for a bit(I do know he’s very tired and very shy so I can partly understand that but I guess my fan heart just got a little disappointed in hearing that).

I guess,I’m just used to people not being nice and honest ,I always keep this thought in my head that everyone can change for the worst and I’m always afraid that people I think are worthy of my respect and admiration will end up disappointing me but this new article comes to remind me of just how amazing Hugh can be and how amazing his friends are (Stephen Fry I love you too *kisses* :D).Oh and the pictures are AMAZING !

Can u tell I’m bored and have nothing to do?Well,this is what I do best,obsess, and without new episodes of House,Heroes,Lost,Supernatural,etc I’m left only with the last 2 episodes of my new found love Battlestar Galactica,some new Stargate Atlantis and catching up with Eureka’s season 3 episodes *cries* so I obsess and make stupid posts.

New and interesting article/interview about/with Hugh Laurie

This is a new article that appeared in Australia and I think it’s quite good except for the part where the author says that House is a surgeon which he clearly isn’t.

RICHARD Clune talks to Hugh Laurie about his role of surgeon Gregory House.

“For a man of his stature Hugh Laurie’s trailer strikes as somewhat small.

In an industry where an actor’s clout is so often calculated by the wheelbase measurements of their mobile home, Laurie’s proves average, at odds with the powerful position he has claimed within the American television industry.

Inside, the “trailer’s” physical size literally belies Laurie’s height – he stands at over 6 foot – his lithe frame forced into a slight stoop as he moves between the bedroom and living area, keen to view a recent DVD purchase.

The familiar strains of Led Zeppelin’s guitars flood the small sofa clad area, before stage lights inform the televised scenario, dominated by a mop of blonde hair easily recognisable as that of Robert Plant.

Laurie sits back, beaming a smile which so rarely informs his acerbic TV surgeon Dr Gregory House.

Despite being in the presence of a journalist, Laurie is relaxed, a feeling, he divulges, he rarely embraces.

“Music is one way I can lose myself completely and hours can go by,” he states, his steely gaze eventually moving away from the small television.

“I just got this new piece of recording software and I cut a record on a laptop. What would have cost $100,000 15 years ago you can now do for next to nothing, it’s extraordinary.”

Boxing is another of Laurie’s pursuits in attempting to ameliorate the stress levels attached to his involvement in the show.

Now in his fourth series of House, Laurie admits the workload – often 16 hour days, 6 days a week – has taken its toll.

“It’s tiring. I’m too neurotic, too anal, too obsessed and too convinced we’re going to fail all of the time to ever relax.

“Every show, every scene we do is a disaster – I’m convinced of it and I go home at the end of the day and my head is full of all the mistakes I’ve made and how I should have done it a certain way. What I should do is to use that time to think about how I’m going to tackle the next day – that would be the clever thing to do instead I beat myself up about what I fucked up the day before.

“That’s the way I’m put together… I’m looking for things to go wrong, I can’t really rejoice or just lay back and enjoy something.”

It’s an odd approach, especially given the success House, indeed Laurie, has achieved.

Viewed as one of the best Stateside offerings of the past decade, the program continues to maintain strong ratings – despite its fourth series suffering under the recent American writer’s strike.

Ever humble, Laurie laughs off the accolades – namely 2 Golden Globes and a Screen Actor’s Guild Award – he has received for his tight portrayal.

“Humble? Not at all, I’m hugely arrogant,” he says with a smile. “(Such awards) are absurd because it’s the role, the writing. I’m simply reading the words I’m given.”

Nearly four years after he swapped London for Los Angeles, the native Britain says the distance between he and his family hurts most. And the city with which he now lives has failed to become home.

“It’s like a gold rush town, everybody’s here to make it big, usually to do with the entertainment business. It gives the place this slight felling of desperation in a sense – you’re very aware of the fact that people are here to get somewhere – the people here are from somewhere else and if it doesn’t work out then they’ll be on a bus back to wherever.”

You get the sense that Laurie longs for his bus to pull-up and whisk him back to Blighty. Or perhaps he just needs a bigger trailer – one becoming a man of his merit.”

Hugh Laurie on The Late Late Show

This Monday Hugh Laurie was a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (a fellow brit by the way).

There were very few new things but it was a great interview filled with jokes,humor and a generally playful atmosphere.All in all I always liked Craig Ferguson a lot(more than I like Jay Leno) and the other 2 appearances Hugh had on his show were also amazing.What many don’t know is that Hugh and Craig know eachother for a long time,since they were both back in Britain and there is a familiarity between them that makes the interviews even better.

Here is the interview
